About the author: 

Fiona WattFiona graduated from Exeter University with a B.Ed. (Hons.), specialising in Psychology and Art and Design. After university she worked as a researcher and writer for a company which published educational material for places where children went on school visits (zoos, museums, stately homes etc). Fiona then taught seven, eight and nine year olds for five years; three years at a state school in Sevenoaks in Kent, and two years at The British School in the Netherlands in The Hague.

Fiona joined Usborne Publishing as an assistant editor in 1989, and over the years has been promoted to editor, senior editor, and then managing editor. In 2003, she became an editorial director at Usborne, largely responsible for writing baby and novelty books, and art and activity titles.

Fiona has written over 100 titles for Usborne Publishing including the phenomenally successful ‘That’s not my…’ touchy-feely series. Other titles include large touchy-feely books on topics ranging from princesses to farms; cloth books with touchy-feely patches and flaps; a wide range of step-by-step art and activity books, including ‘How to knit’; music books with CDs for babies and toddlers; ‘Dolly Dressing’ sticker books; Hide-and-Seek lift-the-flap books; bath books; cookery books and snap cards!

She also edits books written by her team of in-house writer/editors, which include step-by-step activity books and a series of young non-fiction, aimed at beginner readers.
